Surface Pro 3 - Wireless Adapter is stopped and not working

My WiFi suddenly stopped working on my Surface Pro 3.

What's happening: My WiFi does not show any networks. Even though there are active networks that I can connect to, my wifi adapter does not show any networks to connect. I am using an USB network adapter now and can connect to WiFi but with the in-built factory installed wifi adapter Marvell Avastar is not working.

What have I done so far: I have updated the Windows 10 with the latest updates and patches. I have disabled, uninstalled and reinstalled Marvell Avastar Driver. I have followed almost all the possible fixes available on net found through my google search.

What I have not done: I have not and do not want to do a complete Windows 10 reinstall or recovery. It seems to be a hardware failure. Unfortunately my warranty for Surface Pro 3 expired and I am not sure if Surface support could help or give me a replacement.

Please advice. I am running out of options.

it won't be free, but as long as there is no visible damage to the SP3, they do

have an out of warranty replacement plan. I have no idea what the cost will be.

however, the only option is to try the reimage as support would ask you to do

this before agreeing to a replacement at whatever cost.

sorry, I have no other advice.

Please list all the possible fixes you tried through search.

And to be honest, the only way to know for certain if it is a hardware failure IS to do a reimage from the downloadable recovery image for Windows 10. If you aren't willing to try this, we cannot really assist you, sorry.

Barb - thanks for your reply.

If I try using recovery image and we find that it is a hardware issue, do you know what are my options? Is this something Microsoft/Surface could fix or replace given my 1 year warranty is over?

If they won't then I will have to think if I want to do this.

I have done all of the same steps listed above and also did the recovery. While I was able to temporarily get it working again, it fails on me about once a month or so and I instantly lose an hour or so trying to get it back up and running again. Does anyone know if Microsoft has acknowledged this as a problem and come up with a solution? The web is full of similar stories of people trying to fix this with no success.

I've used recovery image from Microsoft's website and no go on getting Wifi and Bluetooth to work on my Surface Pro 3.  Not sure if there is anything I can do?
