We are working with ESRI ArcGIS Collector (other ESRI mobile apps as well) and we are trying to get the GPS feature to function on our LTE Surface GO 3. We are not getting any precision and our trying to get the device configured to support our operations. How would we go about setting this up to function properly, as according to the specs the device supports GPS/GLONASS?

    Hi Anthony T Dietrich

Your contribution to the Microsoft Community is highly appreciated. To activate the GPS/GLONASS functionality on your Surface Go 3, you can follow these instructions:

    1. Make sure that your Surface Go 3 has a clear view of the sky, as GPS/GLONASS signals are received from satellites.
    2. Open the Settings app on your Surface Go 3.
    3. Click on "Privacy" and then click on "Location".
    4. Make sure that the "Location for this device" toggle switch is turned on.
    5. Scroll down to the "Choose apps that can use your precise location" section and make sure that the ESRI ArcGIS Collector app is listed and turned on.
    6. If the ESRI ArcGIS Collector app is not listed, you can click on "Add an app" and select it from the list.
    7. Once you have enabled location services for the ESRI ArcGIS Collector app, you should be able to use the GPS/GLONASS feature within the app.

If you are still experiencing issues with the GPS/GLONASS feature, you may want to check for any updates to the app orcontact ESRI support for further assistance.

I have tried all of this. We aren't getting any location precision better than 180 ft. I know there is a GPS chip in the unit it just doesn't seem to function. The device is advertised as having GPS and it doesn't seem to function (Surface Go 3 LTE) and Microsoft doesn't seem to provide much of an answer as to what to do to get GPS functionality out of the device. We are trying to use these with our field workers to collect rough location data.
