Hi, I have Surface pro 6 and plan to buy Dell P3421W monitor. Is it possible to use mini displayport cable from my surface to Displayport on Dell monitor and use USB port from monitor to connect to mouse, keyboard and external harddisk?

https://dl.dell.com/content/manual28515489-dell-p3421w-monitor-user-s-guide.pdf?language=en-us there are some caveats about external hard drives. It looks like mouse and keyboard might work, but I'd recommend checking this manual and checking with Dell support.
