Making a phone call on surface pro 5LTE

I just bought a Surface pro 5 LTE and was informed by 3 Microsoft reps, plus a best buy rep, that I would be able to make phone calls from the device without tethering to an actual phone device. I've figured out how to install my sim card easy enough, but how do I go about making an actual call or text message?

All those reps were wrong. The SP 5th Generation LTE is a data device only. Voice is not supported. The only way to text is to use an app or web based SMS gateway. Verizon has an app for this, Verizon Messages, in the Microsoft Store. Not sure about other carriers.
