The the surface have a built in tracking mechanism? Mine was stolen last night.

You might want to report the theft to your insurance company as well. Also, we advice to change the password and remove trusted devices linked with your account by signing into https://account.microsoft.com

    You can also use this feature on this link to lock your device. I think this answer the question with regards on the tracking mechanism. However, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/11579/microsoft-account-find-and-lock-lost-windows-device

    You can also try this link below. If your device is registered under your account. Click on Devices> Click on the Device that you are tracking> You have the option there> Find my Device.
