Surface Laptop 3 touchscreen

The touchscreen on the Surface Laptop 3 is not useful since it doesn't fold into a tablet, and it actually gets in my way. Somewhat often, my finger hits the screen while typing, and the curser moves which totally messes up what I'm working on, and, as a grad student, I type A LOT.

I have gone into device manager and turned of HID-compliant touch screen, but there is no change. This has been an issue for months, but I am growing more and more annoyed by it. Any other ways to turn the touch screen off?

    Hi CatLechnar,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. Definitely, this is not the experience we want you to have. May I know which Surface Laptop 3 configuration do you have? Is it the Intel or AMD? If it is Intel, please follow these steps below to disable the touchscreen of the device:

    Open Device Manager

    Expand Human Interface devices

    Right-click on Intel Precise Touch

    Select Disable device

Close Device Manager and restart your Surface
