Hi Warwick Hornidge,
Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We are aware of how inconvenient it can be to have a device that won't start. Definitely not the experience we want you to have with your Surface.
When the Windows logo appears, the Surface will shut off without showing any spinning dots. Perhaps Windows is corrupted. The issue is more likely with the hardware. I understand you want to get the device replaced. However, any replacement process is beyond our support boundaries here in the community. We recommend contacting our live support team to check the options available for your device. You may reach them through the web by following the instructions below.
- Go to Contact Us - Microsoft Support and select Devices.
- Choose your preferred support method.
- Type in the problem you need help with.
- Look at any available solutions offered and select Contact Support.
Kind regards,
Lavenia
