Compatibility issue with Surface laptop5 and egpu(rtx4090)

Hi,

I recently bought the Surface laptop5. I connected the egpu to the surface, and connected 3 monitors to the egpu.

The surround button of the egpu is not activated on the Surface Laptop 5. As egpu, I am using 4090 for laser core x egpu. Triple monitors are working, but when I press the enable surround button in the Nvidia control panel, it takes a moment to load and then doesn't change. I even set PhysX to 4090 in the Nvidia control panel.

Is Surface laptop5 compatible with Nvidia surround or not?

    Hi Hwan Kim1,

Thank you for reaching back Microsoft Community.

Just for documentation, these were the details shared on the previous post:

We would like to ask for a few more details on this for this to have checked:

    • Please open the Surface app on the device then select Device information. Take a screenshot of those details and share it to us here. Note: Please hash the serial number first before posting.
    • Boot the device also to its UEFI screen following the steps here: How to use Surface UEFI - Microsoft Support. Once you are on the UEFI settings, select the PC information tab then take a picture of the Firmware section and share it to us here also.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    Hi Hwan Kim1,

Thank you for you cooperation on this.

I'd like to confirm to where are the external displays connected? Are they connected to the Surface or are they connected to the Razer Core X enclosure where the NVIDIA GPU is placed? Please note that the displays should be connected to the Razer Core X with an NVIDIA Surround compatible GPU. The Razer Core X connects to the device via USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), but the displays will be connected to the GPU directly in the Razer Core X unit, and therefore can take advantage of the NVIDIA Surround feature.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    Hi Marrion,

The external display is connected to a Razer Core X with an NVIDIA GPU deployed.

The Razer Core X is connected to USB-C.

The surround function works fine on my old laptop, but not on the Surface Laptop 5.

    Please sort it out.

    Best regards,

    Hwan
