When I updated to the Creaters update my surface pro 4 have been over heating very quickly. When I try to play games  the surface pro 4 starts to heat up and the screen get fuzzy or blurry. To describe it better it looks like a delay or it moves in slow motion.

    Hi,

The overheating concern might be hardware or software related. Let's investigate this further.

Make sure all Surface and Windows updates are installed. Here's a support article that will help you ensure that all updates are installed on your device.

We also suggest that you run the System File Checker tool to ensure the system's integrity.

Let us know if the steps above help.

    Hi Alliah,

The possible cause of this issue is conflict with some updates or programs installed on your PC. We would like to ask some questions to know the best possible resolution to offer:

    • Have you tried restarting your Surface Pro 4 in Safe Mode with Networking to start Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers?
    • Did you try to perform a clean boot to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs? This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 10.
    • Have you tried running the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files?

    Regards.

Hi man! I know someone from microsoft gave you an answer. It is unlikely to work. I would do a boot up to the UEFI. If the screen still flickers, which is a rather common problem, as we have about 8 threads with the same issue all ranging SP4s. even one more thread about it on the Surface books. I'd recommend to try and get a warranty replacement. Horror stories abide about how the refurb unit you will get will be the same or worse, but it is a roll of the dice. Little next to nothing will fix it, and MS has failed to tell us consistently if it is a hardware or a software issue. In any case, idf you screen flickers in the UEFI screen, get it replaced. Or if your warranty has expired, well.... wait for a firmware fix if that is even posible.
