If checking your audio device settings didn't resolve the problem, a driver related issue might be at fault. To assist you better, please provide the following information:
- Did the issue started after installing the latest update? Also, which app are you currently using?
- Have you tried running the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter? If not, you can go to this link and follow the steps under Solution 4: Run Troubleshooters.
- We recommend that you run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit. The SDT resolves common Surface Book problems and it takes 15 minutes or less, but can take an hour or longer depending on your internet connection speed and on the repairs that the tool needs to do to fix the problems.
