    Hello Gerald,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

To connect your Surface Laptop 5 to an LG monitor with HDMI connection, you can use a USB-C to HDMI adapter or a USB-C dock that has an HDMI port. The Surface Laptop 5 has a USB-C port with Thunderbolt™ 4, which supports USB 4.0 with 40Gbps transfer speed, dual 4K@60Hz display out, and Power Delivery up to 100W. Please ensure that the cable you’re using supports DisplayPort Alt Mode as your monitor requires it for display output.

To connect your printer and mouse to your Surface Laptop 5, you can use a USB hub or a Surface dock. A USB-C hub is a device that expands a single USB port into several so that multiple devices can be connected to a single port. A Surface dock is a device that connects to your Surface Laptop 5 via the Surface Connect port and provides additional ports for connecting peripherals such as monitors, printers, and mice.

You can check this article to learn about Surface Dock models and which may be suitable for your needs. Identify your Surface Dock and features - Microsoft Support.

I hope this answers your question.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
