    Hi DimitarKaradzhov,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with your Surface Pro 9 not starting up properly and requiring a long press of the power button to turn on. I am here to help and let us work on this together.

Based on the information you've provided; it sounds like there may be an issue with the power settings on your device. I recommend trying the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check for updates: Make sure that your Surface Pro 9 is up to date with the latest software updates. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates. You may also check optional updates available.
    2. Reset power settings: Try resetting your power settings to their default values. To do this, go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Change plan settings > Restore default settings for this plan.
    3. Run the power troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix power-related issues. To run the troubleshooter, go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Scroll down to find Power option and click the Run button next to it.
    4. If you are still experiencing power problems after running the troubleshooter, you can try the following methods: Restore default power options by pressing the Windows key + R and typing powercfg -restoredefaultschemes. Restart your PC and check if the issue is resolved.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, kindly give answers to the following questions so we can further isolate your issue and formulate appropriate troubleshooting steps.

    • May I know what build version of windows you are currently running?
    • Were there any changes made prior to this issue happening?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

    Hello, Thanks for your replay

    Step 1 was made ,

    Step two I did now.

Step 3 cant be performed because in troubleshooter I dont heve Power as an option.

Step 4 I did also now.

    Unfortunately it doesn`t help

When I press the power button or leave the PC for 20 minutes I have long press for 20 seconds in order to start it.

What I noticed is that when I click the mouse PC make sound like when you receive error message, but screen is black and you can`t see anything

    OS Build 22631.2715

To better isolate this problem, I would like to ask more questions.

    • When you push the power button to turn on the screen, does it restart or do all of the applications you open stay on screen?

Try to manually update the drivers and firmware for your Surface.

    1. Go to Download driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Pro.
    2. Then click the link next to Surface Pro 9 then click Download on the next page.
    3. Choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.
    4. After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart.
