I have had this surface pro for more than 3 years and this morning when I woke up half of the screen is not at all responding to any touch that includes the surface pen and finger. I have been trying since morning to fix it but it's not working. Can anyone please help me with this. The upper screen is not working and lower screen is working

Go to the BIOS (UEFI) and see if you see the same behavior there. If you do, then it's hardware failure. (Given that half the touchscreen is working, that's what I'm guessing)

To go to UEFI, shut down your Surface. Press and hold the volume-up button on your Surface and at the same time, press and release the power button. When you see the Surface logo, release the volume-up button. The UEFI menu will display within a few seconds.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately for me touch is not at all working in uefi.

Does this mean the issue is the pen or the touch screen?

I would guess it's a hardware issue with the touchscreen digitizer, not the pen.

What happens when you touch the screen with your finger in UEFI? If you're experiencing the same issue, then it's definitely not the pen.

Just to double-check, also verify that the touchscreen is enabled in UEFI.
