Please boot to the UEFI:
Do you see this icon in the upper right
If yes, your SSD may have gone bad
I and a few ppl on reddit are having the same issue: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/all/surface-go-uefi-version-is-1034-and-no-bootable/9d1ba573-7929-489d-b31b-1b5912df529b
Yeah, sadly, I've seen the Reddit post and all the posts here. There are about 50 "me too's" on the posts here. I've tried to alert a couple of people I know at Microsoft. I'm an unpaid volunteer and do not work for Microsoft. If you want background on what a Microsoft MVP is, see https://mvp.microsoft.com/en-us/Overview and for Volunteer Moderators see https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/page/faq#faqWhosWho1 - so I don't have any super powers to get attention..
Same problem here. SSD is not dead. It's possible to boot a windows installer on USB. The ssd appears correctly. I even tried to reinstall. Installation goes fine, partitions are created. Surface is just enable to boot properly. Windows boot manager is properly selected in boot devices. Please fix firmware and give us a way to install it.
