Surface Laptop 3 with Lenovo USB-C dock

Greetings all!

I was recently a Surface Laptop 3 and I wanted to use my Lenovo USB-C dock with the SL3. When the SL3 books up and I connect the USB-C dock, the external monitors are activated.

If I reboot the SL3 while connected to the dock with external monitors, I would the Surface boot logo and even Windows loading, but when it gets to the login screen, the external monitors go blank.

How can I get the SL3 to book up with the external monitors?

    Hello egastt,

Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community and posting your concern here.

In this case, please try to run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check for Windows Update. Make sure to check View Optional features and select all recent updates. Restart the Surface after installing updates. Also, download the drivers of Lenovo USB-C dock on your Surface and see if it fixes the issue.  See  Troubleshoot connecting Surface to a second screen for more troubleshooting guide. Just to inform you, when connecting external monitors using a dock, we wouldn't recommend using a third party dock but instead use the Surface Dock. Check your dock's troubleshooting guide for more details.

Let me know how the issue progresses by simply replying on this thread.
