    That's a 100 % fake warning - a so-called Tech Support scam attempt.

"If your screen suddenly fills with scary pop-ups you should immediately close your browser (try pressing ALT+F4 if you can't do it with your mouse). If you can’t close your browser try restarting your computer."

"Remember that real error messages from Microsoft, or other big tech companies, never include phone numbers for you to call them."

To prevent even seeing such fake alerts, use a good content/ad-blocker such as free uBlock Origin.

    Hi Jeffrey,

That does sound bit like a scam... "your computer is blocked" and not the virus, to call someone... - that all doesn't sound legit. A screen shot is usually pretty good at showing if it is fake or not. Can you provide?

If it was a legit detection, it will also show up in your protection history.

Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security and then select Virus & threat protection > Protection history.

It wouldn't hurt to do a quick scan while you are there too.

    Hope this helps,
