Surface slim pen 2 top buttom doesnt work

Question

I did a lot of things with my new slim pen 2 and nothing worked. Removed it from bluetooth device the paired it again. I even got a replacement and the problem continues with the new device. Installed updates both automtly and manually. I did run the System File Checker. Installed the intel driver and support assistant, then updated some drivers. Nothing worked, the slim pen 2 works great except for the quick access button. If I push 5-7 seconds not any light on it, but it pairs even if i dont press the button. If I click it or double click nothing happens, even changing the behaviour in the options. I even installed the windows installer pack SurfacePro8_Win11_22000_22.073.30047.0 without success for the mentioned issue.

My system and OS;

Surface Slim pen is designed for Surface devices, so I don't think it will work on a cellular phone. Is the Slim pen that just arrived automatically paired on your Surface Pro device? or you manually paired it? Does the eraser function work?

Please try to uninstall the Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator under Bluetooth in Device Manager, then restart your device. Try to pair the pen and see if it still the same.

Is there a way for you to test the Surface slim pen to another Surface device and see if same problem exist?

May I know when did you received this replacement pen?

Does your pen still charge?

We appreciate the time you have spent in trying to resolved the issue. But the last thing I can think of is to test the pen to another device to see if same problem happens. If it is, then your Surface pen is defective and needs a replacement.

Hi Lavenia, many thanks for the quick reply.

I have not any other surface device, nor a tablet or similar, I just have a regular PC with normal screen (no touch) So I doubt I can make it work there, maybe gonna try. ¿Maybe try it on a celullar phone, wich has bluetooth and touch response, or it wont be compatible?

The first slim pen 2 I received Sat 19 Dec from Amazon Spain; I ordered it with the keyboard; Signature keyboard with Slim Pen 2. Yesterday After spending several hours trying to fix the issue, I decided to open a return form, and I will take it back to amazon tomorrow (Monday 19). Then I decided to purchase another Signature Keyboard with Slim Pen 2 from same vendor, wich arrived soon this morning, with the same issue.

I noticed on both pens that the quick button (top button) is a bit loosy, it has not a clickie sensation when its pushed (dont know if thats a feature or a failure)

The pen charges normally, it came at around 80% and now is 100%. As mentioned, nothing happens when the button is pushed, nor the light gets on. But the light flashes when I put it at the charging bay of the keyboard.

I dedicated again several hours to try and solve the issue without any success.

So after all this things, the fault was mine. Looks like I didnt pressed the button with enough force. I uninstalled the mentioned Enumerator, and then restarted. When I tried to pair the pen, I pressed the button with a bit more strength then I did feel and hear the click (and the light started flashing). So all works flawless now. Thanks a lot for your attention and time.
