Screen pressure marks when opening lid

Hello,

I’m experiencing a display issue with my Surface Laptop (7th Edition), which is still under warranty. Whenever I open or close the lid—especially from the top left or sometimes the middle—I notice a ripple or pressure-like effect on the screen, similar to what you'd see when pressing firmly on an LCD panel.

This ripple appears only when I adjust the lid and seems to originate from the pressure or flex on the screen. It’s becoming increasingly concerning, and I suspect it may be a hardware or structural issue (e.g. screen mounting or chassis flex).

I handle the device carefully and haven’t applied any unusual pressure or dropped it.

Has this issue been reported by other users?

    Hello RBN320.

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

From what you've described, the rippling of the screen when you open the cover or make adjustments seems to be caused by the screen and the base cable receiving an impact.

Since this issue involves hardware, we recommend you contact the Surface support team for assistance:

    Contact Surface Support.

    1. Use your personal Microsoft account (not your organization account) to access the following links. Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. Type Surface camera, press Enter, and click "Contact Support" at the bottom.
    3. Select Surface - Surface Pro, then click Confirm.
    4. You will see contact options for Chat support and Phone support, please contact them during business hours.

Please feel free to leave us a message if anything is unclear.

    Best regards,
