Where are the details that you are referring to? Also, the touch screen isn't broken, it just isn't as responsive as any phone/tablet I've previously owned. Not a hardware issue, but software.
Surface Duo Touch input issues among other things
So after having the device for nearly a month my issues are listed below, please let me know if any of you are having the same issues, or am I alone in these?
- Touch input is laggy on all keyboards
- Touch recognition on keyboards recognizes as wrong key.. OFTEN, forcing me to use SWYPE typing.
- Unlocks to black screen and have to lock and unlock device many times in order to get it working, sometimes it just unlocks to my home screen background image and never populates the screen with any apps.
- Some apps don't recognize gesture controls at all and have to be force quit.
- A lot of messaging apps open with the keyboard up and ready and the "back" gesture must be used to
remove the keyboard from view and see messages.
- Facebook messenger bubbles are trash and open across both screens and are impossible to respond to
outside of the messenger app.
- Bluetooth is garbage on this device and must be reconnected multiple times to the same device, i.e. cars, headphones/earbuds, watches, speakers ( a lot of which will never play the audio via bluetooth with the duo, the audio will play from the earpiece speaker and not even the "loud" speaker on the duo device).
The bluetooth however works very well with the surface headphones, but nothing else.
- In 360 folded mode, flipping from one screen to the next is a total **** shoot and just chooses when it wants to offer the option to change from one screen to the next, unless you flip the device over really forcefully, bad gyro sensor maybe... not sure on that one, but however orientation is recognized needs some work.
Honestly that's all I have right now and the list seems a bit long, but I really like the device and have waded through these issues while still enjoying using the device... the touch input issues are my biggest gripes right now and need to be fixed ASAP!!
