Camera will not save photos

Question

My Surface camera has never worked.  It takes a picture but will not save them.  Retired and have the time to try to solve issue

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and we appreciate the efforts made to resolve your camera issue with Surface.

Have you considered performing a system restore? This option takes your Surface back to an earlier point in time. Restore points are generated when you install a new app, driver, or Windows update, and when you create a restore point manually. Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

1. Press and hold (or right-click) the Start  button, and then select Control Panel.
2. Search Control Panel for Recovery.
3. Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
4. Choose the restore point related to the problematic app, driver, or update, and then select Next > Finish.

For whatever reason, system restore was off so no restore points.  I never turned it off, however.

Since it has NEVER WORKED since purchase, I'm not sure restoring would have fixed the problem.

Given that the System Restore Point is turned off, have you tried the resolution given by MVP Barb Bowman on this thread?
