Dear PreHar
Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.
I understand that your Surface camera does not seem to be working properly. Please try the following actions:
1. Check Physical/Camera Privacy Settings
- Surface UEFI Setting: Restart your device, hold Volume Up while pressing the power button to enter UEFI. Go to Devices > Camera and ensure it’s Enabled.
- Windows Privacy Settings: Open Settings > Privacy & security > Camera. Toggle "Camera access" ON and allow apps access.
2. Driver/Firmware Fixes
- Force Driver Reinstallation:
- Open Device Manager.
- Go to View > Show hidden devices.
- Expand Cameras, Imaging devices, or Software devices.
- If the camera appears (even grayed out), right-click > Uninstall device. Check "Delete the driver software" if prompted.
- Restart your Surface. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
- Update Surface Firmware/Drivers:
- Download Surface Firmware Driver Update: Download drivers and firmware for Surface - Microsoft Support
- Run the installer and restart.
- Windows Update: Install all pending updates (Settings > Windows Update).
- Contact Surface Support:
- Use your personal Microsoft account(not your organization account) to access the following links: Contact - Microsoft Support
- Type Surface camera, press Enter, and click "Contact Support" at the bottom.
- Select **Surface - Surface Pro,**then click Confirm.
- You will see contact options for Chat support and Phone support, please contact them during business hours.
