Yellow Spot on Screen

As of today I've had a yellow discoloration appear in the bottom right corner of my screen. At first I thought it was because it might have been too hot, but even after I made sure it was completely cooled, the yellow discoloration is still there. I've already read the answers for this question previously, and the answer to them is to go to the Microsoft store about it. However, with the new Covid-19 quarantine and everything closing, I doubt any would even be open for me to go to for this and if I'm supposed to send it in, I can't even do that as I am an art student about to graduate from college and need to have my laptop to be able to do my work. In this instance, I am not entirely certain as to what to do and as an artist this discoloration is prohibiting me from knowing fully what the actual color of some things will be. Thank you.

    Hi LizzyP9897,

    Thanks for your reply.

If the yellow tint appears in UEFI, that confirms that it is a hardware issue already and since hardware related issues can no longer be fixed by any troubleshooting, then the best resolution is to contact support for replacement options. If in case your Surfaced device is still in-warranty, you can check it from our Microsoft Surface Support if an advance exchange can be processed. Advance Exchange is a kind of replacement wherein you'll get the replacement unit first before sending back the device that needs to be replaced.

    Hi LizzyP9897,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the trouble this may have caused. I

There's only one thing we can do for us to determine if this is already a hardware display issue and that is to check if the yellowing part of the screen appears in UEFI Settings. The UEFI Settings  is an outside Windows environment and if the screen display you're encountering right now shows in UEFI, then this confirms that the current issue you're experiencing is already a hardware related problem and this can't be fixed anymore by any troubleshooting.

To access UEFI ,kindly check this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4023531/surface-how-to-use-surface-uefi for details.

In the event that you see this on UEFI, then the best resolution I can suggest is to have it replaced. I know that it's not a perfect time to get it replaced since you're using this device for school and for immediate replacement, this can only be done at MS store if there's one of the same configuration available. But, due to the current global health crisis, our MS stores are not available for appointment and are not open for safety reason. So, it's best to contact support right after seeing this display issue in UEFI to have it reported and if your Surface device is still in-warranty, they can somehow check any available options to get it replaced.

If this answers your question, feel free to mark this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread if there's anything else that needs to be addressed.

    Kind Regards,

Thank you for your quick response. Just to be clear, if the yellow is still on screen in the UEFI settings, then I need to contact support? It is still on the screen, even in the UEFI settings.
