CTRL and ESC buttons don't work on Surface Pro 2 Power Cover

CTRL and ESC buttons are not working on my Surface Pro 2 Power Cover (ctrl + f, ctrl + t, undo, etc), using Windows 10. They don't work in any program. This is highly annoying. I can plug in another keyboard through USB and it will work. The screen keyboard works as well.

I tried:

*Cleaning the connection

*Ease of accesss keyboard settings

*Uninstalling the driver in Device Manager and restarting

*Disconnecting/reconnecting keyboard

*alt+ctrl+fn

This is very frustrating and I'd rather not buy another kind of cover. Any help is very much appreciated.

    Hi GN,

    Try this,

    1. turn off your device
    2. detach your Surface type cover
    3. press and hold the power button for 30secs
    4. followed by pressing at the same time Volume up+ power button for 15secs
    5. if you see another  windows which is TPM just exit or cancel without saving
    6. it will reboot your device and once your already on the welcome page(sign in screen) attach your surface keyboard.
    7. sign in to your device and check if your surface keyboard keys are working

if not call for Support and asked for a replacement.

take note: replacing your surface keyboard will be replace for free if its still under warranty.

to check if its still under warranty or not go to this Website and register your device.

the serial number of your surface keyboard is located near on the metal connector of your keyboard
