Hi anas walid1,
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
I understand that you're experiencing issues with your Surface Pro 8 keyboard. Let us work on this together. Allow me to ask some questions so we can further isolate your issue and formulate appropriate troubleshooting steps.
- Is there a chance for you to test the keyboard to another Surface or test another keyboard on your Surface device?
- Would you mind sharing the build version of Windows you are currently running?
Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue.
- First, please make sure that your keyboard is properly connected to your Surface Pro 8. You can do this by detaching and reattaching the keyboard. If that doesn't work, try restarting your Surface Pro 8 and then reattaching the keyboard.
- Confirm connectivity: If the LED lights don't turn on, there might be a hardware issue. To verify in UEFI, do the following:
- Turn off your Surface and wait 10 seconds.
- Press and hold the Volume Up button—and at the same time, press and release the Power button.
- You'll see the logo screen on your screen. Continue to hold the Volume Up button. Release the button when the UEFI screen appears.
- Press the up and down arrow keys to change what is selected on the left side menu to check if the keys work or not.
- If the keys are working correctly in UEFI, but not in Windows: The problem is likely with the software installed on the Surface, and you'll need to reinstall. See Creating and using a USB recovery drive for Surface.
I'm hoping you can try another keyboard on your Surface to help us determine whether the issue is with the keyboard or the device itself.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Lavenia
