No sleep option available & laptop not going to sleep.

There's no option available to put my Surface Laptop 3 to sleep, it's either just turning the screen off, or completely shutting down. It's very frustrating to have an empty battery when leaving the laptop unplugged for longer amounts of time with no option to put it to sleep.

In the menu Setting > System > Power & Sleep, there's only the option to turn of the display after x minutes on battery/when plugged in.

In the menu Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > System Settings (Define power buttons and turn on password protection), there the actions:

"When I press the power button": Do Nothing, Shut Down, and Turn off the display.

"When I close the lid": Do Nothing, and Shut Down.

It's seems somewhat ridiculous that I have to chose between the options of completely shutting down the laptop, or just turning off the screen as it continues to drain the battery at a high rate, with no middle ground (Sleep) between those two options.

    Hi Mister_Bart,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

To further troubleshoot this issue, I'd like you to go to Power Optionsagain**.** Once you get in the Power Options page, you will be able to customize all the power plans. Then, click on "Change plan settings". Once you are in the Settings Page of your power plan, click on " Change advanced power settings". After you click that, a new dialog window will open showing you the advanced power settings. In the "Advance Settings", there will be various power related options, click on the expand "Sleep" button. In the Sleep tab, there will be an option to "Allow Hybrid sleep". After you click that, it will show you that it is turned on by default. You can now choose to enable it by just changing it to "on".

If you didn't see the options mentioned above, you can visit this link ** redacted ** and check Method 2 and 3to further troubleshoot this issue.

If this helps, feel free to mark this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread for further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Crest_Z
