Hello mr_andy,
Thanks for posting your concern here.
This could be a driver or software issue on the device. Please give these troubleshooting steps a try to isolate the issue:
- **Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check for Windows Update.**Restart the Surface after installing updates.
- Run System File Checker in Windows 10.
- **Download Dock Drivers.**Go to Surface Dock 2 Drivers and Firmware, click Download then choose SurfaceDock2_SEMMforDock_Win10_17763_20.054.29469.0.msi, run and install. Restart device to apply changes.
- **Disable and enable Docking port in UEFI.**See How to get to the UEFI settings on a Surface for more details. Once you're in UEFI, go to **Devices,**disable Docking portfor at least 15 seconds and then back to enable. Click Exit and Restart device.
Please let me know how it goes. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread if there’s anything else that needs to be addressed.
Regards,
StevenK
