I keep loosing the wired ethernet in the surface dock 2. It happens, e.g., when the I put the surface x in standby or sleep. The wired ethernet not only stops functioning, but disappears from device manager as well until I reboot. I have the latest windows updates, updates for the surface pro x and the dock.

Thanks, it still loses the wired ethernet. Surface Pro X doesn't have the option to disable/enable the docking port.

    Hello mr_andy,

I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Devices connected to dock 2 and using ethernet cable should ensure Surface Net component in device manager is up to date; with version 10.13 or higher. Follow the following instructions to update Surface Net manually:

    • Open Device Manager, Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager
    • Locate Surface Net component under Network Adapters
    • Select Properties > advance to Driver tab and confirm if driver is 10.13.. or higher
    • If version is not 10.13 or higher version, in the same tab click Update Driver
    • Then select ‘Search automatically for drivers’ and follow on-screen prompts

    Hope this helps.
