Microsoft Update Issue

I have a Surface 4 Pro and did an MS update on Friday. When the laptop rebooted, I got nothing but a black screen flashing the MS logo every 10 seconds, and I could not reboot. I've tried holding the power button for 30 seconds multiple times. I've let the battery drain 3 times and rebooted, and it just goes back to the back screen flashing the MS logo?

    Hello Brad Blaylock,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Can you make it clear to us whether you are using a Surface Pro 4 or a Surface Laptop 4? Because you published this thread in the Surface Laptop 4, but the thread refers to the Surface 4 Pro.

I noticed that you seem to have tried the normal operation of recovering your Surface, that is, holding down the power button for 20 seconds, and if this operation does not recover your Surface, and your Surface is still stuck in the Windows logo page, you can basically tell that your Surface is no longer usable. You will need to find a separate Windows computer, download a dedicated Surface recovery image with the serial number, and then complete the creation of the USB recovery drive.

Follow the steps in the support link below to create a dedicated USB recovery drive for your Surface and then restore your Surface to factory Settings:

Creating and using a USB recovery drive for Surface - Microsoft Support ****

The video steps are quite complete, so be sure to watch them carefully.

    Best Regards,
