Hi,

My pink Arc Mouse, which is only a few weeks old, has an oily residue on it from my fingers when using it.

Is there any way to clean this off?

I have tried isoprol as recommended by Microsoft on here with no success.

    Hi BelCus,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We appreciate for sharing your concern to us.

    Does your mouse still work?

It's crucial to clean your Microsoft device often to keep accumulated dirt from impairing its performance. To learn more on how to properly clean your Microsoft mouse, see How do I clean my Microsoft mouse or keyboard? - Microsoft Support.

    Important:

    • Don't apply liquids directly to your mouse or keyboard.
    • Always disconnect the device (or remove the batteries if you have a wireless device) before you clean it.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

    Hi Lavenia,

    Thanks for your reply.

    My mouse still works perfectly.

As mentioned in my question, I have tried cleaning it with IPA solution (sorry had typo in my original question) as suggested by the link with no luck.

So, is there any other way to clean the oil residue from my fingers off the arc mouse?

If not, I wouldn't recommend this product to others, as over time this build-up will get worse and not be able to be cleaned off completely.

    Thanks

    Belinda

Use screen wipes or a microfiber cloth wet with a small amount of mild soap and water. Using a fresh, light-colored cloth, dry the surface. Please avoid getting liquids on your Surface mouse directly. Related article that you might find helpful Clean and care for your Surface - Microsoft Support.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

I have tried all those options as well with no success.

It is as if the oil coming out of my skin has stained the mouse and can't be cleaned due to the whatever the mouse buttons are made from?
