Phone Call notification when in Vibrate Mode

Question

When I have the Duo closed and set on Calls to Vibrate it will only vibrate once when a call comes in. If I set the Calls to Volume with a ringtone, it rings repeatedly just fine. 

When the Duo is open or folded back with screens exposed the calls in vibration mode come if fine, repeatedly vibrating until I answer. 

What could the issue be?

This is by design, For alarms to vibrate multiple times with do not disturb turned on, ensure that you have your device open and not closed.

As a current Duo user I must say that i have missed many phone calls because it will only vibrate once when the device is closed. The setting is only set to vibrate and Do Not Disturb is off. This doesn't make good sense to me. If this is to be a phone it should have the same functionality as a normal phone. It should continue vibrating multiple times when a call comes no matter if it's closed or open.

It would be best if we had the option to change this in settings. Otherwise i am forced to keep the device open in order not to miss a call. Not ideal. ☹️

Agree on this being an issue. I NEVER have my phone ring audibly because I find it a nuisance with vibration being extremely discreet.  Only way I can catch calls is via a smartwatch telling me I have a call on my Surface Duo.  Please fix to have operate as every other phone out there in vibration mode

I am a surface duo user and my phone only vibrates once when closed. Do not disturb is turned off. Are you telling me this device does not vibrate when closed and receiving calls by design?
