I have a

Microsoft - Surface Ergonomic Full-size Wireless Keyboard

Model: 1786

FCC ID: C3K1786

IC: 3048A-1786

that I Purchased for the second time in 2020 & the Left side physical spacebar key has become dislodged & the keyboard had recently begun mistyping certain characters, such as when I click "Shft+2" for the @ symbol. As well, when I click "Shift+" keys.. I get the @ symbol instead.

I have tried to open the "Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center" but repeatedly get "No supported device detected" no matter if I download the 32bit / 64bit / or ARM64 version. I have updated the driver to the most recent version to rectify the situation to no avail.

I am working on a

HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-ch0xx

Windows Specifications

Edition Windows 11 Pro

Version 24H2

Installed on ‎4/‎6/‎2024

OS build 26120.961

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.8.0

Please, if you will, offer any guidance and/or any literature that may instruct as to how to reconnect / secure the physical dislodged spacebar key?

Any & all info & help would be appreciated greatly.

Brian

    Hello Brian Kza,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

After a thorough review of what you have posted here, I am able to note that the Surface Ergonomic Full-size Wireless Keyboard you have has a hardware failure, and that even if you update the driver to the latest version, The keyboard also suffers from typing wrong characters.
