Touchpad not working properly after firmware update

After yesterday's firmware update and win10 anniversary update, the touchpad of sp4 type cover is not working properly. Right click or Left click no longer works, although I can still tap/ double tap or move the cursor but click is broken. I already tried the following but nothing works:

  1. uninstall driver/ reinstall driver
  2. reconnect type cover
  3. restart and hold power+vol up key

Also noticed that in event viewer, there's tons of MTConfig error says can not configure multi touch device.

I doubt it's a hardware problem since it's working before the update. But if it is, I want to know how can I get it repaired?

    I have same problem.

I have noticed in Device Manager that under Human Interface Devices that Wacom Device has a yellow triangle. If I look at Wacom Device Properties I see Device status ----  This device cannot start (Code10) STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR.

    Anybody have a solution?

'The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device.......

    Typecover backlight and etc.....

pretty sure it's driver/firmware related issue

I tried this process and have the same MTconfig errors logged, no help whatsoever.

It appears that the MTconfig errors are generated when entering sleep, in my case closing the type cover.

I have no type cover response from keys or touchpad after re-opening the type cover.

Only way to wake up device from sleep is to short press the power button OR disconnecting power adapter.

Note: FYI, my errors started after applying the 8/2 win10 AU (1607) update.....

Note2: Seems to be when SP4 is on power adapter, disconnecting charge cable immediately wakes up device...

Same here, can't wake up my SP4 with the Type Cover. I'll try disconnecting the power adapter.

Do you use a Surface Dock ?
