Surface Pro X AZERTY keyboard symbols (f.e. @, -, !) at wrong place

Hi,

I just got a new Surface Pro X computer with the Microsoft keyboard + pen cover.

Since I live in Belgium, it's an AZERTY keyboard (settings on Belgian point), but several symbols mostely in the numeric part of the keyboard are on a different place compared to a standard AZERTY keyboard (also different compared to the pop-up touchscreen keyboard).

For me that wouldn't be a problem if the buttons also show the same symbols and characters on the screen as on the keyboard itself (which it only does for the letters but unfortunately not for the symbols).

I tried to update the drivers and change for 2 alternative AZERTY keyboards (Belgian komma and French) but the same thing happens...

How can I correct this so my keyboard does exactly what it has to do (instead of me having to guess which alternative key probably is the '@' symbol for example).

Hope you can help me out since I couldn't find a solution on the web...

BR

Tim

    Hi Tim_VB14,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

Please try these steps to troubleshoot the issue on your Surface Pro X:

1: Go to Windows Settings > Time & Language > Language

2: Under Preferred languages, please make sure that Belgian is listed and it should be first on the list. Select Add preferred language if not listed.

3: Select Choose an input method to always use as default below

4: On the next page under Override for default input method, change the drop down from the Use language list (recommended) to the Belgian language you preferred.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Marrion_Y,

Thanks for the reply, I followed all steps. Everything was set up correctly, I only had to change step 4 => changed override for default into Belgian (punt).

Unfortunately this didn't work and the keyboard still types as a default AZERTY instead of the setup of the surface keyboard...

Any other suggestions? (can't I select anywere an option for Surface keyboard, because it's strange that a keyboard sold by Microsoft, although a different setup as standard, isn't compatible with Windows 10 which is also a Microsoft product...)

I look forward to hearing from you.

PS: the mail reply's are send to a colleague of mine instead of my personal mail (can I change that anywere)

    BR

    Tim
