Can I connect my surface pen to my windows desktop?

I have a Microsoft surface book 2 (10 pro), a surface pen, and a desktop (10 home).

Is there any way for me to connect the two without buying 10 pro for the desktop as well? What will happen to my files and other settings on my desktop if I do end up getting windows 10 pro?

I could also use OneNote and file sharing, but remote desktop would be preferable. Also, is there a way to add a page in OneNote that is just a pdf or word doc?

Thanks!

    Hello MichaelKim8,

Thanks for posting your concern here.

Surface Pen actually works on variety of Surface devices running in Windows 10. If your device is touchscreen enabled, you will be able to draw or write on limited application such OneNote, Whiteboard, and etc. On the other hand, if your device is not touchscreen enabled, then the Surface Pen can act as a mouse-alternative, with buttons for left and right-clicking helps you to select and drag items. See How to use your Surface Pen for more details.

You can actually upgrade your Windows 10 Home to Pro without worrying your files as the upgrade will not affect your files and apps. For OneNote, it only attaches a copy of the source document or file. OneNote does not maintain a link to the source file.

Is it possible for me to use the surface book as a monitor without using wireless connect? I tried wireless connect but the surface doesn't have enough ram and it becomes unusable. I just want to be able to draw on my screen, using my desktop so I can easily transfer files and etc. Also, I realized that remote desktop wouldn't accomplish this either. Also, I would prefer not to buy a touch screen monitor because I already have one in the surface. thank you
