On my PC, a zero with a forward slash is produced by using: Alt0216.  That does not work on my Surface Pro.  What is the solution?

Glad you were able to get it, I'm sorry that it isn't as simple as the alt-codes though.

    Hello ronaldmosher,

The reason why this is not working is because the alt codes only work with the the keypad that is typically located on the far left on most keyboards. The issue here is that the Surface Keyboards do not have this, only the number row on the top.

If you only use this symbol in Microsoft Office programs, they have a built in symbol menu where you can select it. I linked it below.

If you are doing it on other programs, like Chrome for example, there are several ways of entering the Ø symbol. They are certainly not as easy as using the alt code, and I apologize for that.

One solution is to use the Windows character map. Just read point one on the article below to find out how to enable that.

Another way is to use the onscreen keyboard. There have been others who have asked the same, and this is what has worked for them.

You led me in the right direction.  To insert a zero with a forward slash through it, using Outlook, go to MESSAGE then to INSERT then to SYMBOLS then to MORE SYMBOLS then select LATIN- 1 SUPPLEMENT.  There you will find the character.

I don't know what happened with the stars, but I meant to send 5 stars. Thanks for solving this problem.
