    Hi Mahmudul Hasan Milhan,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I am aware that you're experiencing issues with your Surface Book 2 keyboard where in some of the keys are not working intermittently. I am here to help and let us work on this together.

This could be caused by a number of factors, including hardware or software issues. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Restart your Surface Book 2: Sometimes, simply restarting your device can resolve the issue.
    2. Check for updates: Make sure your Surface Book 2 is up to date with the latest software updates. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to check for updates.
    3. Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit: This tool can help identify and resolve issues with your Surface Book 2. See Fix common Surface problems using the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit (microsoft.com).
    4. Detach and reattach the Keyboard.
      1. Unplug your Surface and detach the keyboard.
      2. Make sure there's no debris, damage or anything that may inhibit a connection.
      3. Re-attach the Cover, making sure that all the magnets touch the bottom edge of your Surface.
    5. Clean the keyboard: Dirt and debris can sometimes cause keys to stick or not work properly. Use a can of compressed air or a soft, dry cloth to clean the keyboard.
    6. Confirm connectivity. Press the Caps and Fn keys on your Surface Keyboard several times to check whether the LED lights turn on.
      1. If the LED lights turn on, your problem may be with Windows and not the device itself. The next step is to reset your Surface. Here's how:
        1. Go to Start, enter reset in the taskbar, then select Reset this PC.
        2. Select Reset this PC > Keep my files > Cloud download and follow the rest of the prompts shown on screen. For more detailed steps and a video, see Restore or reset Surface for Windows - Microsoft Support.

You may find the following troubleshooting steps from this article, see Troubleshoot Surface Type Cover or Keyboard - Microsoft Support.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, kindly give answers to the following questions so we can further isolate your issue and formulate appropriate troubleshooting steps.

    • May I know what specific keys that are intermittently stop working?
    • What build version of Windows you are currently running?
    • When did this issue started?
    • Where there any changes made prior to this issue happening?

I hope the provided solution works for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

I appreciate you for answering the questions I asked. When you say reinstalled Windows 11, do you mean you have reset the device already?

Kindly also verify if the keys work in Surface UEFI. To verify in UEFI, do the following:

    1. Turn off your Surface and wait 10 seconds.
    2. Press and hold the Volume Up button—and at the same time, press and release the Power button.
    3. You'll see the logo screen on your screen. Continue to hold the Volume Up button. Release the button when the UEFI screen appears.
    4. On the UEFI screen, go to Time and Date then try to test the letters on the space provided.
    5. After testing, choose Exit > Restart now.

If the keyboard works on the UEFI screen, it shows that the keyboard does appear to function but there may be a driver or Windows driven issue. You may need to reimage your device using a USB recovery drive. This option will reimage the entire device and reload Windows including the drivers and firmware. It is the most complete form of Reset and it will wipe out everything on the device. You will need also a 16GB/32GB of flash driver that must be formatted into FAT32 prior to downloading the Recovery image. For more details, see Creating and using a USB recovery drive for Surface - Microsoft Support.
