Why is my laptop not turning on after an “Update and Restart”?

Asked a couple weeks ago with no response so trying again.

I selected an “Update and restart” on my surface pro 9. It never restarted and now will not turn on. It flashes the windows logo for a couple seconds then goes back to black screen. I have tried holding down the power button for as long as possible to see if it makes a difference. I have tried pressing and releasing the power/both volume buttons in different combinations to get to ANY screen at all to try and action some sort of fix. I have created a recovery USB but can’t go onto any of the next steps because the device simply will not go to any other screen aside from black/logo.

Is there anything I can do?

    Hello,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

According to your description, after updating, your device failed to start and got stuck on the Windows logo.

You have already tried forced shutdown and restart, as well as creating a USB recovery drive for repair.
