When i zoom in on Journal on my surface pro 9 it skips past pages

Im writing in a pdf but when i zoom in too far is skips ove multiple pages. It is honestly a little annoying so i would like to know if this is normal and/or if its changeable.

May I know which app are you using in opening and writing a PDF? Is it through the Microsoft Edge?

When you zoom in, are you using the touchscreen of the device or the touchpad on the typecover?

Does it only happen in pdf? How about when doing other things like reading an online article in Microsoft Edge, does zooming in and out behave the same?

Which Surface Pro 9 configuration do you have? Intel or 5G?

If possible, kindly make a video where we could see the experience that you are having when zooming in and share it to us here. You may upload the video on OneDrive then just provide us here with the Shared link. See: Share files with OneDrive - Microsoft Support

To troubleshoot, kindly try first checking for the Surface drivers' health through the Surface app then run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit. See: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface app and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit - Microsoft Support. After running the toolkit, see same issue persists.

Let me know how it goes and we may recommend other troubleshooting steps once we have received your responses to the questions above.

Hiya,

The issue was on the 'Journal' app that is standard on the surface with touchscreen. I hadn't tried it using a mouse and it did happen with or without a PDF inserted.
With zooming in it skipped past pages, so went down, and with zooming out it skips back, so scrolls up.

But now when i tried making a video i realised that the problem stopped with zooming in but i dont know if this is a 1 off thing, but atleast, im happy about it. With zooming out it still scrolls up though.

i believe i have intel, i have run the toolkit and its running smoothly, good, since its a brand new surface :)

Thank you for getting back on this and for the update. Glad to know that it is working fine when you tried making the video. However, let us try to observe first if the issue would come back or not. Keep using the app and observe if the issue occurs again or not. I'd suggest also that if the issue occurs again, kindly try also to check if it occurs on other applications on the device if possible.
