Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I understand how concerning it is to have such the audio issue on the device. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have.
But I'd like to appreciate your effort in trying to fix the problem. In this case, instead of updating the drivers that way, how about let's try these steps below:
- OpenDevice Manager. Locate and expandSystem Devices.
- SelectIntel Smart Sound Technology Audio Control, then right-click and chooseUpdate Driver.
- SelectBrowse my computer for drivers then chooseLet me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer and hit Next.
- SelectHigh Definition Audio Controller and then selectOK. Now, test your audio.
