Surface Laptop 2 Speakers Not Working Either After Windows or Audio Drivers Update

After either a Windows update or installing new audio drivers from this realtek link, my speaker stopped working and the audio drivers disappeared. After showing hidden drivers, I got this:

I've tried reinstalling Surface Laptop 2 Windows 10 Drivers (with an older build) from here, as well as deleting the grayed out drivers and restarting my computer. So far nothing has worked.

    Hello awee2,

    Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I understand how concerning it is to have such the audio issue on the device. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have.

    But I'd like to appreciate your effort in trying to fix the problem. In this case, instead of updating the drivers that way, how about let's try these steps below:

    • OpenDevice Manager. Locate and expandSystem Devices.
    • SelectIntel Smart Sound Technology Audio Control, then right-click and chooseUpdate Driver.
    • SelectBrowse my computer for drivers then chooseLet me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer and hit Next.
    • SelectHigh Definition Audio Controller and then selectOK. Now, test your audio.
