Surface Pro 3 Cover keyboard stop working after login on Windows 10

When the Surface Pro 3 was working on Windows 8, everything was fine. I logged in as a Microsoft account.

After upgraded to Windows 10, the interesting thing happened.

The Touch Cover keyboard does work during login password inputting, but after logged-in, the keyword stops working.

While the touch pad still working all the time.

I connected an USB keyboard to the Surface Pro 3 after login, the USB keyboard does not work either.

I can't go back to Windows 8 any more, because that option was gone after I tried the option to reset Windows 10.

Any clues?

Thanks.

Thanks Barb, your reply resolved my problem finally.

    Let me describe in detail.

After following the instructions above, at first, it got worse. The keyboard stopped working after startup during login.

I spent some time on exploring, and found an appending reboot on an updated hardware driver.

So I rebooted the Surface... OMG, it get works! :-)

    try a two button reset:

Step 1: Swipe in from the right and tap or click Settings, tap or click Power, and then tap or click Shut down to shut down Surface. If you can’t shut down Surface normally, press and hold the power button on your Surface for 30 seconds.

Step 2: After Surface turns off, press and hold volume-up button and the power button on your Surface at the same time for at least 15 seconds, and then release both.

The screen may flash the Surface logo, but continue holding the buttons down for at least 15 seconds.

Step 3: After you release the buttons, wait 10 seconds.

Step 4: Press and release the power button again to turn your Surface back on.

I tried the above solution a few times, but It won't work. I am still having the issue the touch pad works but the keyboard after I login. This is very annoying, I also tried an external wireless keyboard and I am still getting the same issue.

Having the same issue, reset computer allowed me to login, but once I did so I couldn't type. What I found was that in accessibility "Filter Keys" was turned on. After switching that off it miraculously started working.
