Microsoft Surface Book Class Action Lawsuit

My Surface Book has also suffered the dreaded swollen battery that has caused the bottom of the keyboard to delaminate.  The swollen battery is making my $3,000 Surface Book a dangerous hazard due to the possibility of fire and explosion. After many hours of extreme frustration talking to Microsoft Support, I am so upset.  Is there a class action lawsuit for this issue?

Is that all? I have a huge list of issues. Near immediate screen burn on a 1 year old SB2, battery drains faster than power supply or dock can provide, insane inconsistancy all around. I have never been so upset by a single purchase.

I agree. I bought my Surface 2 in August 2018. I had to bring it in for repair in Feb.2019 because I was told that was all they could do for it. So new one Feb. 2019.  Now the battery will NOT charge, and if I keep it plugged in, it shuts down randomly and now almost within minutes of turning it on!  Microsoft has "lost my call" 4 times now today, not to mention the others this week! Plus, They sent an email link to send them my proof that I even had the warranty (which I did) then apparently called my home the next day, no answer (um? working??) and said because I did not respond they "closed my case"  I opened it back up but to no avail, here I sit still trying to get through to a person who can offer even a smidge of hope!!

I have the original Surface Book and the battery in the display panel is a potential fire hazard. I have tried to get a replacement from Microsoft, but it took hours of going in a circle on their website before I managed to speak to a rep or refused to replace the panel, but offered to let me buy a replacement machine for $600 whereas these are for sale on eBay for under $300, which I explained to the rep. I further explained that if I paid for a replacement, what assurances do I have that the batteries are not as old as the bulging batteries in my device. The discussion ended a couple of months ago with an assurance that his team would discuss my request and get back to me. That never happened.

It's extremely frustrating that MS Support on the one hand tells me that this is not a known issue (even though a simple search on this forum comes up with hundreds of examples), and on the other hand knew exactly what the problem was and their solution was to charge me an extra $600 for a refurbished machine.

I am pretty upset at MS that I am thinking of starting/joining a Class Action Lawsuit. I contacted the law firm that handled the Surface Pro 4 "Flickergate" issue where MS agreed to do right and agree to a replacement program. https://classlawdc.com/2018/02/06/microsoft-surface-pro-4-class-action-investigation/

They recommend that I bring a case through arbitration since I am an individual unless I can find a large number of people who are willing to move forward. I just joined this Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/189825419134690 - titled "Microsoft Surface Book Problems with Screen Discoloration and Bulging" to see if there are any more of us and if they have any lawsuits pending.  I sent out a few other requests to get a feel of the extent of this problem.

I’d be willing to join a class action suit about this and i am sure there are lots of people out there having the same issues. I didn’t know there was a problem until mine started and I did a search. I contacted Microsoft and was told to recycle it, send it to them along with $450+ tax, or they can give two hundred off the purchase of new device. If someone finds a Lawyer I am all in.
