Diagonal lines are still squiggly

When I draw a diagonal line in any program, the lines comes out squiggly.

It is as if the pen input is trying to snap to a grid, or like there is a grid of deadspots or magnets.

I even tested this using a ruler as a straight-edge and the line still came out wobbly.

I made a video to demonstrate this: https://youtu.be/EzOBRy\_Qssg

I previously had asked this question before, but I was unable to try the solution suggested until after the thread was closed.

I have done a complete reimage of the device, but the issue persists.

I do not have another pen that I can test this with.

    Hi Marscaleb,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community and apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you. We appreciate the time and effort spent in troubleshooting the issue prior to posting and in providing the video.

I noticed on the video that the device was connected to power, does the issue also occurs when running on battery?

Also, how about on other applications, do you also experience this issue when drawing diagonal lines?

I'm not sure if this was tried already since this was not mentioned on the previous post also but if not, kindly try this below:

    Open Device Manager

    Expand Human Interface devices

    Right-click on Intel Precise Touch

    Select Uninstall device

Note: If prompted with a checkbox stating "Delete the driver software for this device", leave it uncheck then hit Uninstall.

See if Surface Touch Pen Processor is listed as well and do the same step

Do the same step also for the Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics under Display adapters

Restart the device after and see if issue persists

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,
    Marrion

I have the problem whether I am plugged in or on battery.

I have tested with other drawing programs; it appears to be universal with all of them.

I tried uninstalling the devices like you suggested. The problem persists.

    Hi Marscaleb,

Thank you for the response and sorry to hear that issue persists. Considering that you already tried doing a clean installation of Windows using the Surface Recovery Image, it is possible that this is already a hardware issue on either the pen or the device itself already. For this case, I would suggest reaching out to our live support for options available for service and for further assistance. You may reach our live support through these steps below:

    1. Go to Contact Us - Microsoft Support
    2. Choose how you would like to get support for your Surface device.
    3. Type in the problem you need help with.
    4. Look at any available solutions offered and select Contact Support.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion
