I have to unpair and reconnect the surface pen ever time i restart the computer

I don't know if this is a part of the design or not, but I find it annoying that the status of the surface pen under "Bluetooth & other devices" goes from "Connected" to "Paired" when i restart the computer, because then I have to manually remove the device from the computer, press down the erase button for 5 to 7 seconds and then add the surface pen again, every time I restart the computer. I was wondering if it was possible to fix this or if I just have to live with it.

Thank you for all the help in advance

    Hello zignadCube,

Thanks for posting your concern here. We're sorry to learn that you're having an issue with your Surface pen.

First of all, were you connecting the pen on a Surface branded device? If yes, then this could be more likely a driver issue on the host Surface device. Please give these troubleshooting steps a try to isolate the issue:

Check what is the current OS Build of your Windows version by typing winveron the search barnear the Windows logo.

Go to **Download driver and firmware for Surface,**choose (your Surface model) then click Download.

Choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.

After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    StevenK
