With a protective case installed on my surface pro-x, the screen turns off when latching the keyboard.

Hey,

I have bought a protective leather cover for my surface pro-x (image attached). When I install the cover, the screen turns off. But when I remove the signature type keyboard, it works perfectly. I can see that the case fits the surface pro perfectly with no buttons or sensors interrupted. The screen turns off only when attaching the keyboard, with the cover on. For folding, the cover comprises two magnets at both ends (one comes in front of the camera and the other comes below the keyboard end side). Is it because of these magnets the screen turns off? If yes, the screen shouldn't be working even when the keyboard is detached. Or is there any other sensor that is not visible to me that is getting blocked? I don't know, please help me to find a solution so that I can use this protective cover.

    Hi MoJasir T V,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We appreciate for sharing your concern to us.

Would you please provide me with the brand of the protective case you used? You can send us the link here.

Are you using the Surface pro X keyboard or the Surface Pro signature keyboard?

It's possible that some protective cases won't work with our Surface devices.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

We appreciate you sharing the link. This can be a problem with your Surface's and the protective case's compatibility. Given that the problem only arises when the protective case is on. Due to the fact that this is a third-party accessory, we are incapable of contacting the manufacturer of the product.
