Surface Book not turning back on after rain

My son left my Surface Book 2 outside over night. It rained. When I brought it inside, I set it on its side and drained the water out. After awhile, it turned on.

Then I made the mistake of plugging it in because the battery was low. It started making a soft snapping sound. I unplugged it. Many hours later I tried again. Laptop would turn on and all dry. Thought all was good, but soon it gave the on screen icon that it was out of battery. I plugged it in (all with original cords). I did not notice at first but eventually saw it flashing white light on cord. I flipped it around and the cord went solid white.

Thought it was charging. But after 2 days the laptop will not turn on. Have I fried the circuits? Does the whole laptop need to be replaced or just the power cords or battery? Any advice!?!

Thanks
