ACPI Compliant Control Battery Surface Pro 3

After searching various threads, I still need help getting my battery to charge.

Battery not detected:

  1. Device Manager
  2. Uninstall "Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" (Note: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery is greyed out and says it's not connected. Uninstalling makes it disappear completely until tablet is restarted.)
  3. Scan for hardware changes

This gives me plugged in not charging every time in the task bar and 100% fully charged when I click on it. MACCMB is still greyed out in the device manager.

I'm guessing my issue is with the MACCMB. It won't fully install the driver update either.

there are lots of threads in this forum about issues with the SP3 battery. When did this start? Have you installed all available updates? Chances are your battery has gone bad and you need an out of warranty exchange. You can try to reimage from a downloadable recovery image https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/warranty-service-and-recovery/downloadablerecoveryimage but I suspect the battery issue will still be present.

If you search this forum for

    battery

you will find multiple threads about this
