There are others complaining about this - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/all/surface-pro-x-iphone-ms-modern-keyboard-w/411775ad-f5ee-4034-ac3b-8d0f1f7823a9
itunes on surface pro x not working
I bought a surface pro X and I am having issues running iTunes, iTunes will not play all movies on the Surface pro. On some movies I get the audio but there is no picture, some just crash iTunes when played, most just will not play. I get a series of errors that make no sense when I download movies ( iTunes library can not be used there is not enough memory available, )
Made appointment at the MS store and they tried running iTunes from the store demo model and had the same issues. They are writing up a bug report.
Called Apple and got the run around saying go back to MS.
I am running the iTunes version that is in the MS store, I tried downloading the 32 bit iTunes version from the Apple site but the install doesn't complete and can not get it installed.
wanted to know if anyone else with a surface pro x is seeing the same issue or more importantly is anyone successfully downloading movies and watching them successfully from iTunes?

2020-01-13T21:52:51+00:00 Same issue. iTunes has always been terrible software but this is because of the Surface ProX having to run emulation around Apple's buggy and volumous Windows implementation of iTunes. The Store version is no better. The problem will only be resolved if Apple were to create an ARM64 version of iTunes which I predict at a zero % chance unless Microsoft gets a lot more ARM64 devices sold.
Meanwhile I'm using Microsoft's Video Store and back to Windows Media Player for music (because Groove is also terrible).

2020-01-13T22:08:46+00:00 I'm in agreement with that but I fault Microsoft for putting iTunes on the MS store without testing it for an ARM Proc.
My family shares movies on iTunes and they are all on Ipads so having to buy the movies and double paying is crazy. I knew what I was getting into by buying an Arm based machine but asked before purchasing if it ran iTunes and the answer was clearly yes.
This is MS's second shot at getting an Arm based PC to work, they clearly blew it the first time and one would think this would have been tested much better prior to release
I am sure Apple with eventually fix this problem but agree its low on their priority list
