Surface Book 3 was announced to be compatible with Surface Dial on-screen interaction. It has been more than a year but this feature hasn't been added yet.
I knew that Microsoft has changed the specs on the sales page. It reverses to be only compatible with Surface Dial off-screen interaction now. Maybe it's a strategy to promote the sales of the Surface Studio series. But I still waiting for Microsoft to officially change its mind.
I decided to bought Surface Book 3 after I've played the Surface Book 2 with a Surface Dial, attaching it to the screen and seeing the radial menu popping up. It's really fascinating. Wouldn't it be lovely when I could take out such a laptop somewhere inspiring and then began to paint naturally?
So I bought the Surface Book 3 as soon as it came out. But I didn't expect the consequence. We all know that all it needs is just a software update. But Microsoft just didn't offer it and withdrew the promise instead. It broke my heart. I think the company has to make an official announcement explaining this or tell the truth/difficulties why it can't come true.
I still love this machine. It is as beautiful and powerful as I dreamed. It's designed to be a handy tool without any part wasted. I begin to wonder how ruthless Microsoft can be, to leave such a beauty unfinished and incomplete.
