Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter Firmware Update

Hey guys, I recently purchased a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter from eBay. It seems to work, except performance isn't the greatest.

I can watch videos on the extended display, but say streaming youtube and simply moving the mouse onto the second screen over top of the video while it is playing causes the audio to skip and so does the video.

I have the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app installed. It says my Firmware version is: 1.2.7303 and says "Firmware is up to date"

But when I searched the internet, the latest version people are commenting is 1.3.xxxx something.

How can I "force" the update? I am hoping it solved performance issues and allows me to connect my Galaxy S5 to it.

    Yes,

    Right Here.

I am also trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S5 to it as well, which according to that thread the update will fix it. I'm also hoping it increases performance. The performance is good, its just shy by a little. I really think its a software/firmware issue.

You are right. That 1.3xxx IS the latest. I can connect to my MWDA with my Surface Pro 3 but the app claims I am not connected. so I can't check the firmware here. I don't know of any way other than the app to check/update firmware.

It would be awesome if there was a way to plug the USB into the computer and force the update or something.

My MWDA app says its updated. I can connect without issue but it always says its updated. I even tried disabling my firewall to see if that was the reason it wasn't able to check for updates but still said it was updated. I have all the Windows Updates installed as well.

Have you tried resetting the MWDA while it is plugged in? hold down the button

on the edge for 15 seconds and then release. you will have to pair again, but

hopefully you will be able to update to 1.3 through the app.
