Correct, it does not have video in. And there really is no accessory. There are
lots of cheap external monitors available these days, though.

Hello
I have a surface pro 4. I am trying to connect my surface to my other hp laptop so i can use the hp laptop screen as an external monitor. I have tried the hdmi adapter for the surface, then connect a HDMI cable, and connect the HDMI cable to the hp laptop HDMI port. But no success. Is it possible or I really need to buy the surface dock (the one with all the extra ports). Thanks

Does the HP laptop support video IN? Most do not. What is the exact model HP laptop?
Most laptops do not use HDMI for input, only output. Buying a Surface Dock wouldn't help connecting to another laptop to use its screen.
If you have an external screen you can use, you wouldn't need a Surface Dock either, just a mini-DisplayPort to HDMI or mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter depending on the screen you were trying to connect to.

It is HP - ENVY Touch-Screen Ultrabook 14" Laptop - 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Midnight Black. And I think you are right it doesn't have a support video IN. So, in other words, I don't think it will work. There is no accessory I can buy to adapt it and use the laptop screen right?
