Surface book 2 base not charging

Hi there

My surface book has suddenly stopped charging, Windows did perform an update today but it feels like its more of a hardware issue;

When I plug the charger cable in to the base part the light appears on the charger to show the circuit is complete but it does not charge either the base or the computer part.

When I remove the computer part and plug the charger cable in directly it charges with no problem so I think it must be a problem between the connection between the charger and the battery in the base. Is there anything else worth checking and if not whats the best solution to the problem?

    Try a two button restart. Press and hold the volume + button and the power button until the UEFI screen comes up. It will take a minute.

    You can also run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.

    Sometimes updates will cause a problem like this, more likely if you have Fast Start enabled.

    I had the same problem. I uninstalled the Windows updates and ran the Microsoft Surface Diagnostic Kit available from Microsoft Store. It then started charging after a restart.
